Data Controller

Tuck is developed, published, and operated by Quartz, an independent Mac software studio. Quartz is the data controller responsible for any personal data processed through Tuck and this website. For privacy-related requests, contact us at [email protected].

Overview

Tuck is a macOS menu bar organizer built with a privacy-first approach. The app collects no telemetry, analytics, or tracking data of any kind. It only contacts our servers for license validation and Sparkle update checks.

Data the App Collects

Tuck does not track your usage. Your menu bar configuration stays on your device. Network requests are limited to license activation/validation and update checks.

License Validation

If you purchase Tuck Pro, your license key is validated locally using an offline cryptographic signature and periodically checked with our license server. Activation registers your machine so we can enforce the 3-machine limit.

During activation, we store:

• Your email address (provided during purchase)
• A machine identifier (hardware UUID)
• The license key

This data is used solely to enforce the 3-machine limit per license and is never shared with third parties.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record on behalf of Quartz. When you purchase Tuck Pro, the Merchant of Record collects your payment information, email address, and billing details, and is responsible for tax calculation, invoicing, and fraud prevention. We do not have access to your credit card or payment method details.

The active Merchant of Record is identified at checkout and on your purchase receipt, and their privacy policy governs all payment transactions.

Website

The Tuck website (usetuck.com) is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not use cookies, analytics scripts, or tracking pixels. Cloudflare may collect basic server logs (IP address, request time) as part of their standard infrastructure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Merchant of Record — Payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing for Tuck Pro purchases
• Cloudflare — Website hosting and API infrastructure
• Resend — License key delivery emails

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Data Retention

License records are retained for the lifetime of your license. If you request a refund and your license is revoked, we delete the associated record from our systems.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Tuck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
