Why notched MacBooks need a different approach
When app menus and status items compete with the notch, hidden icons can become hard to access. A simple off-screen hide is not always enough for people who frequently check those utilities.
How Tuck Shelf Mode works
Shelf Mode keeps the top menu bar clean while presenting hidden icons below the menu bar when you need them. It is designed for notched MacBooks where horizontal space is the constraint.
Setup steps
- Install Tuck and grant Accessibility.
- Enable Shelf Mode in Pro.
- Arrange icons around Tuck using ⌘-drag.
- Click Tuck or use the shortcut to reveal hidden items.
Permissions
Shelf behavior can ask for Screen Recording so Tuck can identify and present menu bar items. Tuck does not use that permission for analytics or telemetry.
